About
Expected Highs is a New York City based recording project led by Victor Thompson, a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, and producer. Building on a foundation of big guitars and big hooks, Expected Highs' debut album, “The Last Song on the Album,” combines elements of power pop, post-punk, new wave, garage, surf, and 21st century psych rock into a heady sound that pushes the past into the future. With influences as wide-ranging as Brian Eno, Pixies, Neu!, and Duane Eddy, this tour-de-force debut delivers pop thrills with a growl and a bite. Boston-based guitarist Matt Heaton adds Frippy noise and groovy surf tones to several tracks, and the album was mastered by Nada Recording’s John Naclerio, who also engineered guitars.
